Asking nicely for reimbur*****t of unauthorized transations

Monday the 19th one of the phones on my account got lost and a stranger picked it up. Conversing over smses he stated clearly that he had no intention of returning my phone. In the process of trying to locate the phone through the internet services I did not suspend the account right away. I found out a couple of days later that my account limit was raised ( wasn't me ). I'm thankful that I got this email because I didn't know he was able to do this without my permission and actually change my limit.

So I immediately phoned in and suspended my account. The operator told me I should get an avidavid at the police and then submit these so that I could be reimbursted for the amounts used on my behalf. I opened a case, and some other telkom store staff also told me to speak to the accounts department for this reimbur*****t. So finally whe I did the operator at the accounts department told me they simply cannot refund me.

I'm like, I have an active open investigation with the Boschkop police station to track this guy down. I have a case number, I have an affidavid to proof this was ********. Why won't you refund me? Your selfhelp service has no built in security for situations like this and someone with just my phone was able to change my limits telephonically with my details. How could he do that without even my ID number? Now I'm sitting with the costs he incurred on my behalf. I'm asking very nicely, please reimburst me for these amounts. You don't have to, but it would be the right thing to do here, please. All the amounts used from the 19th onwards until the account was suspended was not my usage on that phone...

Frank
