Appalling Service from Telkom

On the 7th of March 2024 i went into the Telkom store at Woodmead to upgrade or migrate my current fibre line speed from to 100mbps, i was told to call 10213 as that service was provided over the phone. Together with my son we called 10213 and spoke to Nosipho and we went through the process and was told it would take 24 hours to be activated and we would get a notification once done. I emphasized to Nosipho that we needed the service urgently for my son's new job which required that connectivity speed and that i would be travelling overseas the next day and it was important to go through everything as i might struggle to get hold of or follow up with Telkom whilst away. She assured us that she had all the information needed and had done all the verifications etc. To cut a long story short, 20 days later the migration has not been done and my son and i have been literally following up with Telkom on a daily basis. My son out of desperation even went to the Telkom office at Mall of Africa and they were not helpful at all. The application or request keeps on being cancelled or rejected and we are told that we live in a gated community and must speak to the gated community division. We contacted the gated community section and they have referred us back to 10213 as our house does not fall under a gated community? I list below some of the names and reference numbers of the people we have dealt with that we remember. 1. Nosipho - CSN94137 2. Chezlynn and he promised that his manager would call us back but never did. 3. Zakele and he promised that his manager Latoya would call us back and never did. 4. CSN94961 and incident report number *** 4. Yesterday the 26th we dealt with Philisiwe (CSN95657) who has been helpful and also called us back today. She managed to speak to bring together both the gated community and the 10213 together and it was established that our home does not fall under the gated community. She will not be in the office tomorrow and before she knocked off wrote to her supervisor Mandy Ntuli explaining the case and we understand that it needs to be escalated or investigated further before a determination is done. My son starts his new job on the 1st of April and we still don't have the fibre speed he needs to do his job which actually puts his job on the line. Most likely your people are now off for the holiday and it does not look like this matter will be settled before his start date? We have had colleagues complaining about Telkom's service and have now experienced the lack of service, it is shocking or should i say ******** that they take our money and could not care less. To make matters worse you can never be put through to someone senior or in a position of authority to escalate your case. It's always they are busy and will get back to you and they never do. Existing and potential customers of Telkom be warned!!
