Appalling Service
I am so annoyed with the service I have been receiving of late from Telkom. This is not the first time this has happened, my services are disconnected with no reason and my account is up to date, I have no arrears whatsoever. I am so sick, I woke up, wanted to call my family for assistance and guess what? "Your service has been interrupted". I cannot speed dial anyone for help. If I were to die today, I would like my family to blame the stupid network provider. I depend on the service hence I ensure it is paid on time to prevent such from happening, the main reason why I took out a contract with them. I decided to call the "service provider", spoke to an advisor named "Mamokiti" or something like that, she was so calm didn't seem to understand my frustration, unbothered to be exact, all she said was "I will send and email to our Account Collections Team and they'll have the service reconnected". She did not sympathize or anything for that matter. I then requested to speak to a manager, she placed me on hold for almost 10 minutes in search for a manager. I don't understand why is it that all the time when one request to speak to a manager it is always a hassle with Telkom. They'll tell you they'll have to go look for one or they'll say he or she is in a meeting, the advisors do not even offer call backs, you as a client will need to request for one, I feel that is not good customer service at all. I then spoke to a Team Leader called "Levy", who answered the call with, "How can I help you", I found that very rude as I'd expect the manager to be briefed on why I requested to speak to him, to avoid me having to repeat myself. When I asked if he was not briefed, he said to me "Your service has been disconnected and you requested to speak to a manager", I then had to repeat my query and he said "Sorry about that, it seems your service has been disconnected in error, we have escalated the matter and once the collection team starts shift they'll look into the matter" I then asked him, in the meantime as I need to make a phone call what do I do? "Do I call you guys and then you'll make that call on my behalf or you'll transfer me seemingly I was wrongfully disconnected? He said "I am sorry we cannot do that". I asked him to contact the ambulance he said he couldn't, I then shouted at him, of which I'm sorry for and I apologized to him about that. I asked him about the turn around time,he says that he was waiting for me to finish so that he could tell me, the turn around time for my services to be reinstated was 5- 24 hours whereas it is no fault of mine but Telkom's. He then said he will place me on hold, he placed me on hold without telling me how long he will take and why he was placing me on hold. After holding for almost 20 minutes, he refreshes the hold and says he is " I am still trying to get someone from the Account Collection Team who can try and reinstate your service before they could start shift", I told him I'll hold and I was placed on hold yet again. I am honestly disgusted by the appalling service, the telephone etiquettes from both advisors and team leaders is a joke, it's like dealing with a bunch of *********** people . I was on a call with "Telkom for an 1 hour 59 minutes and 59 seconds" still my query was not resolved, no ambulance whatsoever, luckily while I was on that call my partner came through as he forgot something and he quickly to me to the car and I was taken to the hospital as I was in pain, told him what was happening and the way he was so annoyed with me for spending so much time with "Telkom" whereas I could have called SOS. No lie, that made me feel stupid as I did not think of it, well I guess I was not thinking straight due to the pains I was going through. Telkom has really cost me and I honestly would NOT RECOMMEND IT to anyone. They do not know what soft s****s are,how to deal with an irate customer and how to go an extra mile for a customer. Everything about it is a joke. I'm disappointed and disgusted I won't lie. If it were up to me I'd just take my contract elsewhere, but I'm stuck with the service provider for another year as I cannot pay it upfront and just cut ties because I don't have means to do so. I just hope that this does not affect my credit file as this is not acceptable. They are quick to list on the credit file. I called back again after a couple of hours requesting to speak to the same "Levy" manager who said he will not talk to me as he said he has escalated the matter and there's nothing he could do after he placed me on hold and **** to me that he is getting hold of someone from the collections team who'll attend to my matter. After a long hold the manager still did not attend to my call. I believe they work on first call resolution, had the manager came back to me and provided feed back I doubt I'd have called again and the agents FCR would not be affected. Telkom needs to teach their advisors as well as team leaders how to work around maintaining the FCR as I believe it is how one relays the feedback to the customer to avoid having repeat calls.
