Appalling service at Telkom

I have had intermittent issues with my ADSL for going on TWO YEARS! I have had various technicians out to try and sort it out. It works for a while and then it stops. On weekends, it is virtually unusable. I am working on an extensive online project, which is coming grinding to a halt. The whole thing is costing me time and money. For the last few months it got worse and worse and nobody could come and see to it, due to "everybody" being on strike, according to the people at the Telkom shop.

A few weeks agao, a technician came around and told me that it was a fault with the cable. He was extremely helpful, but was unable to help, due to not being in the cable division. The whole thing started again, as it was then referred to the cable division. The fault was escalated and I contacted a woman called Jeanette, who has been very helpful in terms of returning my calls, but it seems she does not have that much say in who fixes what.

It is now over 2 WEEKS since I've had ADSL! This is completely unacceptable. Telkom is continually advertising new products, but cannot service their existing clients. I am at the end of my tether and really want to cancel my contract altogether, but it seems that there are few other options at this stage. I live in a dip and am unsure as to whether an LTE connection would work.

I have been informed that they are putting fibre optic cable on the OTHER SIDE OF MY ROAD. If Telkom was interested in my ONGOING problem, they would see to it that fibre was installed in my home. It is abundantly clear that they couldnt care less.

For now, I just want somebody to sort this out for once and for all.

Hi.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately this issue has NOT been resolved. A technician did respond and found that my password had been changed mysteriously by somebody, which was preventing me from connecting. They fixed that, so I got up and running again.

HOWEVER! He also told me that the copper cables are eroded and won't be replaced, because they are putting fibre optic into my road. NOBODY can tell me when this is going to happen, including the area manager, who promised to get back to me, but did not. When I call Telkom Customer service I am told they are not putting fibre on MY SIDE OF THE ROAD????

In the meantime, I have gone back to the same issue, which has been an issue for nearly 2 YEARS. - intermittently painfully slow internet. The speed test I have just done gave me the following results.
Download Speed: 119 kbps (14.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 146 kbps (18.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 2951 ms

This is completely unacceptable.

What I want is the following:

1. A SENIOR technician to call me ********** 641 and tell me exactly what is happening, so that I can make a concrete decision

2. A technician to come to my home and test an LTE device to see if it is an option. Having said that, I have been advised by the technician who visited my home that it is preferrable to go with fibre. I don't want to make the wrong decision, as I will have to commit to a 2 year contract.

I currently am working on my cell phone combined with an integrated sim card, which is also slow.

I am truly tired of wasting my time and money on this. Please would you get somebody senior to respond
