Another Useless South African Monopoly

A couple months ago I was contacted by a telkom representative. At that stage i was paying just under R400 a month for a Telephone Line as well as my ADSL Line. I was told there was an offer from Telkom for the line and becoming my ADSL supplier for R350.00 - AWESOME!!! - NOT!!!

Three months later i was sent an sms saying my telephone line would be cut if i did not pay my outstanding account - I have a debit order come off every month. Telkom had me paying some extra ridiculous amount and not even started billing me for my new contract. Fine, i paid that.

I then had a conversation with a guy from there call center who said they would make a minimum of R350 debit order. I asked to just take whatever was owed - he assured me R350 would be fine and cover my package.

I got my invoice yesterday and realized, after paying R350 a month for however many months i am now R400 odd in arrears as they did not include VAT. What a st@ff up! Now i must make up R1000.00 before i get cut off?!?

If you are going to advertise or sell something don't do it dishonestly, you might be the monopoly in the telecom industry but that doesn't give you the right to lie and give us misleading information!!!
