Angry Telkom customer

In September 2017, I entered into a 24 month contract with Telkom, payable R600 a month and covers unlimited data and a telkom line. On the 21st of March 2018, my network was down and a call has been logged with the call centre. After daily follow up's, I was informed that it was a bulk network problem in the area and understood. Yesterday the 26th of March 2018, I received an sms telling me that unfortuntely my services will be cancelled and that I can make contact with Telkom. I then contacted them and was informed that I now need to take out another package with Telkom as the one entered into in September 2017, will be discontinued. I told the consultant how can a 24 month contract just be cancelled in 6 months and her response was "Mam you are not the only customer who is angry about this matter and you need to make a decision as soon as possible before your sevices are cancelled all together." So my question is, if I had to cancel my contract with Telkom prior to the expiry of my contract they would have held me accountable for payment of the duration of the contract. I am extremely upset and definitely will be taking this matter further but in the interim would lime to spread awareness to all NOT TO ENTER INTO ANY AGREEMENTS WITH TELKOM
