ALWAYS WAITING ON TELKOM

My telkom line has been off/out of service since 29 June. I reported it on 30 June. It has now been a week and my line has still not been fixed. It may seem that a week is not an unreasonable time for a line to be out of order, but it depends on the user experience already gone through with Telkom. My online studies required me to have a reliable internet service which I get through a service provider with Telkom supplying me an ADSL ready line. The 4mbps line I app**** for on 12 April, I had to wait for until 05 May for installation. I understood there is a 21 day waiting period for installation so that was not an issue for me. On 05 May the technician could not give me a 4mbps due to unavailability in my area. So I had to place another order for a 2mbps line on the same day, and had to wait util 25 May for installation. That time it was successful and now, having had the joy of ADSL for a little over a month, after waiting a month and a half for it, my line is out of order. I do phone the call center to enquire on progress, I do receive sms's from Telkom telling me my problem is in hand. But that is not the point. The point is that they cannot tell me how long I will have to wait for my line to be fixed and in the mean time I am paying my service provider, for a service I can't use, I'm paying Telkom line rental for a line that doesn't work, I'm paying my studies that are falling behind and I'm paying extra on mobile data to try and keep up. It just feels like I'm always waiting on Telkom, and that there's nothing I can do because they are the only company in RSA supplying fixed land lines, so I have no other choice. It is frustrating because I had to wait so long in the first place to get a line, and because the line is a month old and already it is out of order. I'm not saying they have poor service, but their turnaround time on installations and fault finding need to improve drastically! I've had a negative user experience with Telkom and I sincerely hope this is not the trend going forward.
