Airtime Not loaded on my new SIM card

I bought 2 sim cards at Sandton city and I requested those SIM cards to be loaded with cash. Before I left I confirmed with the cashier and he told he loaded my simcards. A couple of days later I tried to use those card and they didn't have funds. I would like to know what happened to the airtime I bought.
