Telkom is South Africa’s leading telecommunications company, with solutions to keep you connected when you’re at home, at the office or out and about. That slogan is total garbage! My ADSL line dropped on 17.07 and is currently still down, due to cable theft. Our phone rental is also currently offline.
Telkom is not my ISP and i have to pay my monthly ISP bill, i was told that my account would be credited once they've received confirmation from Telkom, but no updates whatsover.
My friend who lives a few houses away has Telkom as his ISP, and was told that Telkom will no longer be supporting ADSL within the area and won't replace the ****** cables, as they will be rolling out fibre. He was then forced to switch to an LTE package on a 24 month contract.
Why would you stop support for a product that is currently being used by residents within the area, when fibre is not yet available??? There is no date on there website telling you when fibre will be rolled out. This is unprofessional!
I've had my ADSL line for 5 years with continuous drops over the years. All tickets logged with Telkom via my ISP was closed and the reason was always faulty cable. I've also been working from home for the past 2 months, and from the 17.07 to date, I've spent double my monthly bill to avoid loss of productivity.
Poor service and just greedy for money!
