ADSL port at capacity

I am shocked at the lack of services been provided by Telkom at the moment. In order to have a working ADSL connection in your home, you require an ADSL line to be installed/activated. Without it, ADSL is not an option! At the moment, Telkom has no available ports to have this done for me...meaning I suffer from the above situation - no option for ADSL!

How can you not pre plan or foresee that an upgrade on your infrastructure is required? Surely if you are currently reaching maximum capacity, the demand is required for additional ports, so why not add these before reaching capacity?

I find it unfair that Telkom gets to dictate what kinds of service I may have. I now need to go out and get other forms of internet connection/WiFi, which is going to cost something between R1500 - R2500 just to install the service, this is not including the monthly installments I will need to make for an actual bundle, these (usually broadband) services are much more expensive than ADSL and it is not something I can actually afford.

I struggle to do assignments as I am currently studying as I have limited means to doing the required research to complete these assignments. It is unfair to customers to have to be restricted to what they are allowed to have. Telkom is honestly useless in my opinion as even their service is pathetic, when you deal with their client services team you can't even get an answer or each person has a different answer. Wish we had other options to make use of for communications providers in SA.
