ADSL DOWN FOR A MONTH NOW

So a month later and still no results with our line which has been down - completely. Thanks Telkom. They have sent technicians out twice after the 4-week mark, who both agree there is a problem with the exchange, and that’s as far as we have gotten. However, they were quick to tell me that Telkom will only introduce fibre technology in our area if: 1) more businesses open so it’s more worthwhile, or 2) they get competition in our area. Moreover, this includes upgrading the aged lines, which the technicians have apparently been asking Telkom to do for a long time since the copper lines are old and hugely problematic. So how does this make one feel? Telkom take complete advantage of us, their customers, because they know we don’t have any options – if you don’t live in one of the “worthwhile” areas, they especially don’t give a toss. If history has taught us anything, monopolies can and will come to an end. We DESPERATELY need some competition for this bunch of wallies. Our government is incapable of creating jobs, and with parastatal “service” providers such as yourselves small business and entrepreneurs are also doomed to fail. You, Telkom, are thus destroying South Africa. I hope you are happy.

In parting, WHEN IN THE HOLY NAME OF THE MOTHER MARY WILL THIS ISSUE AT THE EXCHANGE BE ADDRESSED AND OUR LINE BE UP???
