ADSL down for 14 days

ADSL Line last worked properly on the evening of 29 January 2017 between 23H00 & 23h30.

Contact my ISP Vox Telecom on the 30 January 2017. They Checke everything on their side stating that it was a Telkom issue the line was not syncing at the correct speed and not authenticating properly on the Telkom Exchange.

I've logged a call with Telkom on the 31 January 2017 with Reference number: 745CTK310117.

I also advised Telkom that the common solution on different ADSL blogs was for Telkom to put me on a different Node.

On Sunday 5 February 2017 a contracted technician came to my home and spoke to Telkom over the requesting them to recreate the service this was done twice before the actual line synced but did not resolve the issue. I again contacted my ISP vox who confirmed that the line was still not authenticating on the Telcom exchange. Then Called Telkom again and an escalation ticket was created 952329 on top of the original Reference number: 745CTK310117. On Sunday 12 February 2017 yet another contracted technician arived at my premises saying he wants to try and by pass a pole in a neighbours yard and to get sa more di

Guest account "guest@telkomadsl" still same problem.

On Monday 13 February 2017 I phoned Telkom again to follow up they said that the call was not yet picked up by a technician.

On Tuesday 14 Fedruary 2017 at 8:30 am I received a SMS stating that Reference number: 217CTK120217

rect connection to the main box. He also stated that a test from Telkom's side show an under ground error. He tested the line speed via his tablet all showed ok and correct but I still could not connect to the internet. He said that he could not do more from his side and left.

Again I called my ISP Vox and they check everything on their side and again said that it's not authenticating on the Telkom exchange. He also let me test using the Telkom Guest account ********** but it still did the same not authenticating on the Telkom exchange.

I Then Called Telkom again and said that the problem is still not fixed and told them that my ISP Vox said the line is syncing at the right speed but not authenticating on the Telkom Exchange.

The Original Reference number: 745CTK310117 was closed and a new Reference number: 217CTK120217 was locked for the same problem with the information added about the Telkom Exchange. The Telkom Agent also went through the process of resetting my router and testing with Telkom was restored with out anybody contacting me or being at my premises with the problem still not solved.

I again phone Telkom who advised me that the Reference number: 217CTK120217 was closed and again a new ticket need to be logged Reference number: 104CTK140217 and still no solution to the problem

After the Service calls logged and an escallation from the first 745CTK310117 to the escallation 952329 to the second service call logged 217CTK120217 which was closed with any technician contacting me or being at my premises to test up to the third service call logged 104CTK140217 and still no solution to the problem it seems that Telkom have no Idea how their own system works and this level of service is unacceptable. Currently I'm paying for a service I'm not getting.

I did the test last night as requested by Telkom representative Yazied

Router connected via data line normal phone socket from wall; disabled the wifi card on pc and connected to router with lan cable.

Then set up broadband via the "Network and Sharing Center" on WIndows "Set up broadband, dial-uo. or VPN Connection, or setup router or access point" option. Used the Broadband (PPPoE) option "Connect using DSL or Cable That requires a user name and password".

Did the test as follows:

First did the test on the original router a Netgear N300 with the Telkom username & password configured on the router and on the Broadband Connection error 651 after 10 sec next I changed the user name & password on the router to my username and on the broadband connection I used the Telkom user name & password " still got error 651 after 10 sec. Third test was done using my username and password on both the Router and the Broadband connection still same result error 651.

I Repeated the above test with 2 other routers TP Link AC750 Archer D2 both brand new the second right out the box configured for the first time still same error 651.

In all tests the Router was rebooted when username & Password were changedand internet line light was on on the router but on the pc in states no Internet connection.

Error 651 "Your modem or connecting device has reported an error" message on all tests.

Althought the error states a Modem/Router problem I don't believe that 3 modems can be faulty.

I also managed to open Google twice before any of these test but it only lasted for a few second before stating page cannot be displayed. Also my dad was able to download 1 email during the day after trying for 5 hours. So tells me that it's trying to authenticate.

Have anybody including yourself checked if there was any changes or maintenance or work done on the weekend f th 29th of January 2017.

At this point at least Telkom and my ISP Vox Telecom sees the same behaviour on the line.

With My ISP Vox Telecom still stating that it's a authenticsation problem on the Telkom exchange.

So what happened or changed on the 29 th of January 2017 between 23H00 pm and 5H00 am on the 30th of January 2017 in the time span of 6 hours.
