ADSL Compatability
I recently moved back to my hometown in Oudtshoorn. I went through the whole process of installing a telephone line again after a huge hassle because the closest Telkom is situated in George (about 45min-1hour) away. Before finally applying for a telephone line and phoning them numerous times i was told that there is no infrastructure for a telephone line at my home location. I was obviously extremely frustrated because i mainly wanted to connect a telephone line to connect to an internet service provider. So eventually it was found out that a telephone line can be installed at my home. So after doing this and waiting a month on trying to swing my internet contract from another service provider over to my new telephone number i was told that it is just a normal telephone line. That is fine i will phone Telkom. I phoned them on the 1/7/15 after rushing home from work to catch them in time to be told yet again that the area i live in is not ADSL compatable? What does that mean? How do you make an area ADSL compatable? I live on the main street of Oudtshoorn with a few businesses situated around me. How does this work? I want an explanation and how the area can be made ADSL compatable
