Account Suspended For No Reason - 4 days still not fixed

Telkom suspended my account 3 days ago (15/11/2017) for no apparent reason as I was up to date with my payments (I even provided them with proof payment).

I then phoned the call center to find out what the story is. I first spoke to Nkosana M, I explained my query and she was unable to explain to my why my account was suspended. She only said that the payment is not reflecting on her side and she doesn't know why; I then mailed her my proof of payment (which clearly stated that I paid within time). She told me this would be escalated as the payment should be allocated (by the bills department) before she can re-instate my account.

I phone again to find out how far, then I was told that I had used the incorrect reference - I then sent them proof of the reference I used it was discovered that it was actually correct (so who ever said I used the incorrect reference was completely wrong - she merely made an assumption).

I phoned for the third time to I then spoke to a Manager - John. He tried to make up a story as to why my account was locked and it turns out he made everything up, as I showed him that my payments were up to date, he still didn't re-instate my account and he told he wouldn't. By the way he was quite condescending towards me (I tried to be as calm as I could under the circumstance).

I then phone for the 4th time I spoke to a Maxin to get a progress report, this was already 2 days later and my phone was still locked (I can't make or recieve calls or go online). She then told me the correct procedure was NOT followed by the 5 people I previously spoke to including 2 managers. She said I was supposed to send my proof of payment to a ********** with my account and cell phone number as a subject. I did as she proposed (but by this time I had lost it, as it meant that for 2 days I was sent spinning around and my case not resolved). After sending the mail, it bounced back I then called again (for the 7th time) to check if perhaps I made an error and typed the incorrect mail - then next person I spoke to actually told me that whatever Maxin had told me was all a lie and incorrect (by this time I was very frustrated and appalled at the incompetency of Telkom customer service). He mere told me that my query had been escalated by Nkosana and it will be resolved by 17/11/2017 morning (by the way it's still not fixed).

I then phoned again on the 4th day for the 8th time I spoke to a Ngobile H, she also couldn't explain it to me. She was however very nice towards me. She then checked on her side and found that my proof of payment have not been attached on my profile and that the escalation has not been resolved because of that (I was genuinely frustrated because it means that the last 3 days were a waste of time and I just being given the run around).

I have had to subsequently take this up with Lawyers and I will be calling Telkom from their office and record the conversations, I've also began the process of reporting this mistreatment to the consumer ombudsman as I am a paying customer. What's worse about this is that I literally just renewed my contract 14 days ago (and now I'm trapped in this for the next 24months), because if I tried to cancel they will charge me hefty cancellation fee to trap me in this contract which I no longer want to be in.

Kind Regards, Very Disgruntled
