Account suspended 7 months ago, bill continues to run up, cannot cancel, legal action threatened

I had a Telkom ADSL line. I was unhappy with line and wanted to cancel. I was given email addresses to send my cancellation instruction to but these didn't work. What I wanted was the oustanding invoice in order to settle and effect cancellation. I allowed the account to be suspended which occurred in mid-April 2018. I was only thereafter informed that the only method of cancellation was via the Telkom online platform. I tried this, however, it would not allow me to cancel a suspended account. I kept receiving new invoices every month for the service despite suspension. I logged a dispute on the online platform in August 2018 to which I have to date received no feedback but continue to receive invoices. I also received an sms threatening legal action if the outstanding amount was not settled within 24 hours, with a contact number for a Mrs Reddi. I tried calling this number, but it rings and then is disconnected. I am willing to pay for the services up to suspension and including the reasonable notice period but should not be threatened into paying for the 7 months during which I had no access to the service.
