Account Query STILL NOT resolved

I have had endless trouble trying to resolve my issue with Telkom Mobile. I have been trying for months to resolve what I see as a very simple query, but it has proven to be very complicated. I will outline it below.

I was called late last year by the Telkom mobile call centre, offering me a contract. My details were taken down and a contract was opened telephonically. During this call I was advised that although direct deposits were accepted as a method of payment, I would be required to set a debit order date (I don't remember the agreed date). I made my payments monthly and all was well. I don't remember exactly when, but I missed a payment and I accepted the penalty for that. I paid the outstanding amount and I was up to date again. In fact, I was in credit for March, April and May of this year.

In June the proverbial wheels came off and I've had no joy trying to resolve this issue since then. I called the call centre and queried the debit order run and the fees incurred for that months billing. A debit order was run for R28.00. There were no funds in my account but I had made a payment via EFT upon receiving a sms advising me that the R28.00 was due. I received another sms a day later and made another payment. The amounts paid were R100.00 and R200.00 respectively. The debit order should not have been run in the first place. I incurred a R115.00 returned debit order fee on my bank account, as well as a returned debit order fee on my Telkom account of almost R300.00. After numereous calls to the call centre resulting in a lot of time wasted during my work day causing enormous frustration and risk to my employment status, I finally spoke to a very helpful and friendly call centre agent. I don't remember her name but there should be recorded proof of our conversations. She investigated my query and returned my call on 4 September 2017. She acknowledged that the error was at Telkom and the fees incurred would be refunded to my account. She also suggested that I send my banks statements reflecting the returned debit order fees I incurred as a result of the error. These would then be credited to my Telkom account and not paid into my bank account. I was satisfied with this resolution. (I have yet to send the bank statements and I will explain that in detail shortly). The call centre agent then advised a difference of R85.00 was due, which I paid on that very same day - 4 September 2017. It is not apparent on my statements that the adjustments were made. I called the call centre again after receiving a sms notification that my account was in arrears. At this point I advised the call centre agent (yet another person) that I would not make any further payments on this account until I received the credit that was due to me. The gentleman I spoke to denied that there was any record of a credit due to me. On 23 September 2017, I visited my local Telkom store. They connected me to the call centre. I spoke to another helpful agent, Siphusithu, who suggested I send an email detailing my query to ********** I've had no response to said mail which was sent on 9 October 2017.

I received a sms this morning informing me that my service has been interrupted. I understand that this is due to non-payment, but I will not pay anything until Telkom Mobile offers me an acceptable resolution. I do not want a debit order. I have had a Cell C account for many years and have always paid it by EFT so I don't understand why Telkom Mobile insists on a compulsory debit order policy.

My salary is only paid over to me on the last working day of the month. Once my query is satisfactorily resolved, I will commint to making my payments by no later the 7th of every month following receipt of my statement.

Due to not having received a response to my previous email, I've not bothered to send my bank statements to ********** As a result, I'm unimpressed by the way Telkom Mobile is managed as a business and will not be renewing my contract. I will also discourage the use of Telkom Mobile as a service provider to anyone that I encounter who may be considering a contract with them.

I trust that this matter will finally be resolved and that a mutually beneficial arrangement will be reached.
