Abysmal

Early December one of our business lines went down and we reported to Telkom, given 4 days to repair (this in itself is pathetic for business). We had a call from them shortly before we were going off on annual shutdown to say a technician would be in touch to sortit out. You guessed, nothing till we were back to work around 4 Jan 2017 when we called to follow up. They then told us a cable was damaged and needed replacing. (a busniess line now out for 3 weeks). Last week we saw the crew digging around a Telkom pole 100m or so from the location, stopped to ask if they wer repalcing calbe and 'yes' confirming for our street number. 2 days later, around 10 Jan, nothing - called Telkom and their response was that the cable needed to be replaced. We notified them that the cable had been replaced and asked for esculation (again).

On the weekend of 14th Jan, the other business line went down with the ADSL. Telkom can give no outlook as to when either of the linest will be repaired.

For the business (very small business) to continue, we have had to lay out on additional cell phones for staff to take calls form clients, sign up on expensive LTE contracts and purchase expensive LTE modems to connect, let alone the lost business and unhappy clientelle.

Unfortunaltely there is no alternative phone service coverage in our area, or Telkom would lose another customer!

Best regards,
9 Days later and all I have had from Telkom is an automated response above! Great servcice.... NOT!!
So here is my update, because one cannot wait ones whole life for Telkom to fix a business line which your company is dependant on.
A Tech did arrive for the second line that was down, (first line since Dec not on his agenda), who went out to see what could be done to assist. He was quite helpful and in a short period he reinstated our internet (at speeds I have never had with Telkom... around 3.6 Mb/s) and our one line. This lasted a whole 8hrs, including overnight. In the early hhours of the morning the telephone line was so noisy you could become deaf holding the receiver a meter from your ear. Of course the internet ADSL was now operational at about 0.36Mb/s at this stage.
Another call reporting the line. And the next day (Thursday last week) a second tech arrived. He went out and came back to say the cables are in such a bad state, the previous tech joined wires up as best he could, but the lines are damaged underground and water is getting into them. His advice was to drop the copper and go 3G Telkom phone.
Off I went on Firday to the local Telkom shop at Mall of Africa. As ususal, a long queue, at least 20 employees behind counter, in back office and others wondering in between. At one stage, there were only 2 customers acutally being assisted, 2 others delegated to call a call centre and not being helped by the assistants. As patient as I could be, eventually got assisted, siggned up to move landline numbers to Telkom's FLLA (Fixed Line Look-Alike). Boom. They could notprovide me with the hardware, out of stock! However, they activated the SIMs for both lines. Progress. They also told me to visit the @Red Mall shop in Centurion as they had stock of the phones.
Saturday, off I went, stood in a ling queue only to be told, they had no stock. Went back to Mall of Africa. YThey could not tell me where to get phones. Called numerous Telkom shops, not one answered! Went to various electronic companies od the Incrdeible connection type to see if they stoocked such phones. Tried Neotel head office. None could help. Now in the third day of wastin my time, I started stopping at all Telkom shops I passed between customer calls. Viola. Found 2 hand sets at Centurion Mall on Tuesday - no thanks to any help from Telkom!
Inserted SIM cards. One not activated, the other can call out cannot recieve calls. Aslo the call out is on a 012 number and not 011 as requested. Back to Mall of Africa. New Sim and reactivate other one. However, cannot recieve calls only make calls, because, according to techinican/agent, someone else has to authorise the disconnect between landline and reconnect to FLLA. He mails someone to sort out.
Wednesday - attampt to call 10217 to ask when phhone will be able to recieve calls. They transfer the call to a number that does not exist. Recall, they give a new number for sales who must activate. Phone sales. They want to put back to technical to assist. When I protest, they give another number who cannot help.
Thursday - same as Wednesday with all the calls. Eventually someone says they can only assist by sending emails to the one who signed my up, their manager and someone they know who may be able to help!
My one line is now down since beginning of December 2016. I am trying to run a business. My other line is now down for 2 weeks. I am trying to run a business. Is there anyone in Telkom that has the slightest interest in real customer service????/
Is there anyone in Telkom that knows how to turn on FLLA from an old copper line????
Is there anyone in there at all??????

Numbers supp**** on 30th Jan 2017. Still nothing done to correc the situation. This has to be the worst service of any telecommunication supplier in the world. And to think I was about to migrate our business cell phone accounts to Telkom. I must have been smoking something halucinatroy when I had those thoughts!
Can someone in there wake up Tumelo or anyone to actually, so that they can connect our business FLLA so that we can receive calls???? This cannot be that difficult to do???? It is now 3 weeks since being forced to take a FLLA because Telkom cannot fix the copper line, and Telkom still cannot get the FLLA to wor****!!!
