My Dad MR CM Pillay passed away tragically on 21st July 2017. After the various rituals his NBS Account was frozen and closed 1st August. I immediately called Telkom to advise that the account is closed, do not process the debit order and I will pay cash. This was dealt by a Telkom agent: Dandr Raquel Christine Pretorius (DR) and via email she mailed me the invoice which I subsequently paid at Checkers R138. Last week, I then called Telkom again to find out the bill for this month and was told by a call centre agent it was R380 - I then asked why so high? She told me R200.94 was for the bounced debit order and the bill was R180. I advised her I called Telkom to advise of my Dad's demise - and she said I was supposed to give 30 days notice. I then told her that God did not give me 30 days notice to advise my Dad was passing away!!! I explained I called Telkom to advise of this and said I am paying cash until my brother transfers to his name - which will be by October. I paid R180. I absolutely refuse to pay the unpaid fees as you can listen to the call made to Dandre in early Aug where she acknowledges the request and advises I could pay cash. I expect his bill to normalise and any additional fees reversed please = as per call recording 8th Aug. Thanks
