Absolutely horrific service from telkom cresta
Absolutely horrific service from the Cresta store. I bought my iphone 7+ from the crestsa store in dec 2016, a year into my 2 year contract my cell phone dropped and the screen broke, then phone started acting up and would just switch off and reset indicating a problem with the battery. Took the phone back to cresta to be sent in for repairs, gave telkom a little extra time as it was over the Christmas period, end Jan I receive a series of sms’s indicating that the phone had been repaired and sent back to the store. February receive an email requesting the excess payment from the insurance underwriters, pay it and submit proof of payment. Hear nothing more. Go to the store at the end of Aprilto fetch the phone to be told by a very rude, uninterested service person at the cresta store that the phone is not back and it is my problem to contact the insurance and follow up, after a further three weeks of emails and phons calls, the phone is finally returned to the cresta store , go to collect and get to deal with the same rude unhelpful agent. To get the phone back, battery flat and get asked to check that the phone works before I leave the store and sign for it, I ask her how I can do that when the phone is flat and she just shrugs her shoulders looks at me and asks me why I never brought the charger with. Take the phone home to find out the battery issue was not even looked at, eventually take the phone to the iPhone store cresta and diagnostics confirms a battery failure . So the store sends the phone in for me and today I get an email from them to say that the warranty is void because the phone has been tampered with and they will not repair it and are sending it back to me so I now have an iphone 7+ that I am paying a horrendeous amount of money for every month that I can basically only use as a paper weight, so I try to phone telkom, phone one number, they only deal with SIM cards, phone the number that they give me, no option to query a phone that needs to be repaired only self service menus, try to live chat, still waiting for a response, ask for a call back. Still waiting, other option go back to the shop that *****ed it up in the first place, the really sad part is the service from cell c, mtn and Vodacom are just as bad if not worse, I know that this will not be reposnded to by anyone as consumers in South Africa mean nothing to the service industry.
