827CNK211016 - no tel line or internet since 21 Oct.

We registered the above mentioned fault 12 days ago.

We have had no internet or tel line since 21st October.

In this period of time we have not had one single phone call or SMS to notify us of what the problem is, when it will be resolved and to offer us a credit for the time without service.

What we have had has been lots of SMS's from Telkom offering us additional services (really?), specials and all sorts of stuff, at a time when Telkom has been incapable of providing us something as simple as a tel or internet service!!

Can Telkom please have the decency of contacting me (their customer) to follow up on this fault and advise the way forward. What I can promise is that I will not be paying the invoice dated November until our service is returned to normal.

This reply was sent to me two days ago! Kindly note that your "escalation" is an empty promise, as our line is still down - and has been now for 14 days - that's two weeks without the service which Telkom are supposed to be providing.
Please note too that other neighbours in our complex have been down for 10 days but because they are retired and could go to the Telkom shop daily and call the 10210 number daily, which I cannot do, their service was restored!!!
I will not be paying Telkom until such time as the service is restored. This is embarassing to your company and sadly just when we thought Telkom were making an effort to change their service to the better, clearly we were wrong. So back to what we were doing a year ago - looking for an alternative SERVICE provider.

My reply on Monday morning 7 November as follows:
Good morning Jawaad
You will forgive me but I am not entirely sure which of the two "stories" I have been "fed" to believe.
On Sat morning I wasted another 20 minutes of my precious time at the Telkom shop phoning to get an update on this matter. I was eventually told by Thabang Masilo from the call centre that the cables in our area were ****** and that Telkom "were working on it". He was going to ESCALATE this matter (woo hoo) and get the technicians working on the fault to call me . Shame I think he lives in cloud cuckoo land - in 15 days I have not received a mere SMS or any form of acknowledgement from Telkom - to have a technician call me - little me customer of Telkom, would have meant I was not a customer of Telkom's.
This story is very different to the one you told me.
The fact remains - no Telkom tel or internet for 16 days. I paid the October invoice in good faith, but I can tell you now that not a cent will be paid by myself in Nov.
What I do need you to do is to log a request for credit to be passed for the 10 days of no service in October - 21 to 31 October. This credit is to be passed in the Nov account. I would like a reference number for the request for credit.
I think it is shameful the way this failure of service has been managed. I assume it will continue and I will continue to look for an alternate service provider.
Why are you not responding on Hello Peter to my message? this should be in open forum so that all people can see how poorly Telkom treat their so called customers.
Kind regards
S Damerell
Kindly attend to this enquiry - my husband runs a small business from home and has not been able to access his email (unfortunatelyl his email address is a telkom one) since the 21st of October - that can spell death for a business. Telkom is failing its customers
