6 months of failure and incompetence

I had no choice but to sign up for a Telkom ADSL line. There is no fibre on my street and all LTE signals do not cover my area. Ever since getting the Telkom ADSL line it has been nothing but a complete and utter failure. In the past 6 months alone I have reported 32 faults (YES more than a fault reported per week). You would think that this kind of persistence would be rewarded with results but sadly Telkom continue to excel only in their utter incompetence and inability to deliver a service they promise and for which I pay. Of the 32 reported faults, only on 2 occasions did a technician come to my house. On both these occasions the fault was predictably NOT resolved. On one occasion a Telkom subcontractor replaced the entire line from my house to the junction box, even though there was no detachable fault. He said he was told to do this, so that the customer would feel that something was being done. Telkom continue to fail in finding this fault even though I have provided them with a viable solution. - move my line to a new port - move my line to a new exchange

Why can't Telkom do their job... it beggars belief.

Specific problems: - intermittent connectivity requires rebooting router more than 6 times per day - intermittent connectivity requires Telkom port reset at least 3 times per week - slow download speed (<3Mbps) when Telkom promise me an 8Mbps line

Dear Garrett, Unfortunately the fault has not been fixed. I used this platform because I was hoping to get a better service than Telkom's call centre (10210) but sadly it appears as if the Social Media Team is as ineffective as the call centre in actually helping solve customer's problems. Instead of simply following procedure, why don't you actually investigate what has been happening with my ADSL line, and actually do something constructive. You technicians have "claimed" that over 100 faults reported by myself have been "repaired", when within 24hrs the fault re-appears again. I think its time you are your team actually do your job and escalate this issue to someone senior enough in Telkom who can actually solve a problem. Once again Telkom fails miserably... A sorry excuse for a public service organisation.
