6 months and still waiting
In February 2017 I received a call from a Telkom call center informing me that they wanted to put me onto fibre. I accepted their offer and was given a reference number. In March I received another call informing me that they wanted to put me onto fibre. I gave them the previous reference number and they then gave me a second reference number. Since then I have received at least another 5 calls of the same nature. When given the two previous reference numbers they promised to check the details and call me back. This never happened! Next they sent a SMS to my cell asking if they could put me on fibre I rep**** YES, again this fell on deaf ears. I recently had a house visit from Vodacom who told me that they could have me on fibre within 3 working days. I decided to give Telkom the benefit of the doubt and went to their Hillcrest Branch Office where the counter assistant could not tell me how long it would take to install, weather I could have a month to month contract or haveto sign up for a fixed period but insisted that I sign the application before this information was made available to me. I asked to speak to the manager and am still waiting. The existing ADSL service is pathetic with my internet service crashing several times a day and I now need to move ti fibre and a better service. It is obvious the Telkom does not care about their customers even if they have been with them for 28 years.
