4 weeks to process a sim swap

I am changing devices and have to change from a micro to a nano sim.

Visit 1: Went to Telkom Mobile store The Grove, was told it’s a company contract I need a letter of Authority on a company letterhead signed by the director, a copy of the directors identity document and proof of business address.

Visit 2: Went back same day, with all requirements and the company director, who happens to be my husband. Systems were off line. Agent at the counter checked all the documents and assured me that all was in order and that my husband need not come back with me again to process the sim swap.

Visit 3: Went back to Telkom Mobile store at The Grove, the next day. Half way through the process, I was told they couldn’t assist me and that I had to go to a Telkom Direct store since one of the lines linked to the company contract was a land line.

Visit 4: The day thereafter, I went to Telkom Direct store in Brooklyn. The Telkom agent at Brooklyn refused to help me. The contract was not in my name, the company director must come in and request the sim swap. The letter of authority, copy of id etc, was not sufficient.

Visit 5: Request for sim swam was submitted at Telkom Direct Store Menlyn end of May 2017. Received my new nano sim was assured that it would be activated later the evening.

Call 1: I followed 2 days later, was told in process of being updated.

Call 2: Followed up again on 12 June, two weeks later. Was told request was received, loaded but not submitted?? The person dealing with the request did not finalise sim swap nor add a reason for delay! The individual I spoke to on the 12th assured me that an email would be sent , to finalise the sim swap and that I would receive a call back the same day. Never happened.

Call 3: 20 June, I am still unable to use my new sim “Not registered on network”. I called Telkom again today, same story “person dealing with request did not finalise or submit instruction”.

How difficult is it to process a sim swap???

Please explain to me why I must visit your Menlyn store again?
Why was my request not processed the 1st time?
What documents, if any, must I bring along to finally get my sim swap done.
