4 months, thousands later and my line still are not canceled.

Telkom has continued to take payments for 4 Internet lines after cancelation in November 2018. 4 months ago.

I Had Telkom internet installed last year for 4 locations- my house and 3 businesses. Within the first 2 months there were countless days where we had no internet. I was paying for 20mb lines but my internet would measure 1-3 on a good day. After a few call outs to technicians and the problem persisting, I decided to cancel the lines. I was told I need to register to Telkoms online profile to do so.

After countless attempts at trying to register to the portal to cancel I went to see someone instore on the 16th of November 2019. I explained that I cannot register as the site does not send me the required OTP in the required time. (The OTP is valid for 3 minutes- I would recieve one in 3 hours and then have to start again.)

I saw Malepa Kedibone from Telkom collage square in Bloemfontein in store. She told me to try the registration again in store. Again I did not recieve the otp and an enquiry was logged. She then processed my cancellation (I have all the documented proof). Later she called me to say that the adsl is cancelled (one months notice) and that the LTE line require 3 months notice. I said its fine. I again complained about the routers not working. Still no one has rectified the problem. In order to proceed with business I got a new service provider while still paying telkom.

In January 2019 I enquired on what date the cancellations will be final. Told me that the Lte Routers would be cancelled 26 January 2019. It is now 18 March 2019. My lines still are not canceled, almost R10 000 later I still have no service on 3 of the 4 lines yet I am being debited for it. I have been in store countless time where an escalation is raised or the system is offline, I am now being told I owe a penalty fee of almost R6000 to cancel. Do yourself a favour and do not use this service provider. You pay thousands for service you do not recieve.
