3 Months of Frustration — Still No Resolution from Telkom
I am beyond disappointed with the appalling customer service I’ve received from Telkom over the past three months. What started as a simple billing issue which was a missed debit due to a system error on Telkom's side has turned into a nightmare of double debits, misinformation, and being completely ignored.
Telkom's system error led to me being charged twice — without my consent — and despite contacting their call centre multiple times, sending detailed emails (which go unanswered), and requesting to speak to a manager, I am still stuck with inflated bills and zero accountability.
To date:
No one has acknowledged or responded to my formal complaints. I have to call almost every single day , requesting to speak to a manager but receive no assistance as most agents work from home and do not have access to managers.
I have received contradictory information from at least five different agents, including a manager( the only one i've managed to speak to thus far).
I have been denied access to a manager.
No effort has been made to correct the overcharges or even explain the R2000+ bill I was slapped with for June — a result of their own internal issues.
This level of service is disgraceful for a company of Telkom’s size. They’ve not only taken money they weren’t authorised to, but they’ve also ignored every attempt I’ve made to resolve this. I’ve asked for:
An itemised billing breakdown from April to June.
Correction of all overcharges.
A proper invoice.
A direct call from a manager — not automated responses or empty promises.
None of these basic requests have been met. Telkom has shown no respect for me as a customer and no urgency in fixing the problem they caused.
If this issue isn’t resolved immediately, I will be filing formal complaints with ICASA and the National Consumer Commission — and seeking legal advice to recover any wrongful deductions.
Shame on Telkom for treating customers this way. This is my final attempt to get someone to take responsibility.
