200km for a sim swap

I have a contract with telkom, and because telkom closed down their store in welkom free state- they expect me to drive 200km to my nearest telkom store in Bloemfontein to do a SIM SWAP. I asked why, they can't just courier me a SIM card? I was willing to send them proofs etc if necessary- but they told me, I had to pay R35 at a telkom shop and it couldn't be done because they can't courier parcels- I have a call reference it's : ***4 - I cannot be reached on my mobile because I don't have a SIM card !
