2-Month old Device deemed out of warranty
I purchased a Sony Xperia M5 Dual on contract in December 2016 and received the device on the 8th January 2016. I had the phone for almost 2 months before the screen started acting up and then went blank. After numerous trips to the City View store (Durban), my phone was finally booked in for repairs.

On the 23rd March, I received an SMS that stated that the repair was deemed out of warranty and that I was liable for the cost of R3512.76 in order to repair the device. The SMS also stated that a consultant will contact me shortly. Today is the 29th March, and I'm still waiting for that call. I haven't been given an opportunity to learn what was wrong with my device and how it was deemed out of warranty.

The device was never dropped or handled negligently at any time. The device is also dust-proof and waterproof, so water damage cannot be an issue (The device has never been immersed in any liquid either). The issue was with the software. I'm now paying for a contract with a device that does not work and I had to borrow a phone because I have no idea when this issue will be resolved.

It's a very frustrating position to be in. Please contact me to resolve this issue.
