Misleading Advertising

Telecom 1023 offered me a FREE service. I just needed to update my information for an already existing entry, they hounded me for the form to be completed. Now 2 weeks later I have received an invoice for R 14 400.00 for a FREE service. I called them and was asked by Carmen why I had not read the fine print? Why did I sign a legal document? no one held a gun to my head!! I repeated that I was told it was a free service. I have repeatedly requested for the recording with the call center to no avail. I was told I can cancel the service, but still have to pay and the service remains in place for 12 months, after which the service will be cancelled. They hold me responsible and will be handing me over to debt collectors. I have contacted consumer complaints and have been advised. Suppliers are not permitted to directly or indirectly, provide customers with false, misleading or deceptive representations regarding goods or services. BE AWARE OF TELECOM 1023!!!! They are ****mers
