DO NOT EVER BUY A SEALY MATTRESS

When I read the reviews on Hello Peter I just KNEW what response I would get from Sealy on my mattress complaint. The mattress is just over 6 MONTHS old and is sagging severely to such an extent that when I lay on my stomach to sleep, I have to fill the whole under my body with my blanket to level out my body. Yet Sealy says the piece of **** they sold me is normal? Is this what standards have gotten to that it is NORMAL to wake up with an aching body, that it is NORMAL to sleep on top of a blanket to lie down in a "level" body position? Normal to have a sagging mattress!?!?! My previous Sealy mattress lasted me OVER 15 YEARS so YES I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!!! The reason I was a die hard Sealy fan was because of the comfort of my old bed. NEVER AGAIN will I buy a Sealy!!! So YES there are numerous posts on Hello Peter and YES you can believe them all! Do NOT EVER buy a Sealy because their quality has gone to ****!

Sub quality mattress from Sealy

Inferior quality mattress that don't even last a full year! As a lifelong believer in Sealy mattresses i have bought my LAST Sealy mattress. Bought a Sealy Elite Queen Mattress From The Mattress Warehouse in Oct 2025 and there is a inlay that formed and its sleeping very uncomfortable. I sent pictures of this where i put a 1meter long aluminum level there i can stick my hand in where the inlay int he mattress is. Clearly a defect in the mattress.

Poor service

I bought a queen size Sealy Columbia bed in May 2026,I've been rotating the bed every two week. The one side you can see signs of sagging and the other nothing. I filled a complaint and was told it's body impressions, the port holes are visible and the stitches are becoming loose aswel. They told me they don't find any fault. I have been rotating the bed. They never send anyone to check the bed it is very frustrating to pay for something that is not of the best standard, I cannot be complaining already about a bed that has been used only for 2 months full.

Sealy Posturpedic and The Bed Centre Racket

Sealy is hell bent on collecting the worst ratings. They just don't care at all about the customers. In collusion with The Bed Centre, they sell the "Burberry" range which they market to customers as the Sealy top range, priced slightly above the actual Sealy Posturpedic top range which is "La Difference". The Burberry Luxury Plush which I bought from the Bed Centre people in King XL without a base for just under 40k, is inferior. It uses standard foam and lacks the superior dual flex hybrid foam combining latex with memory foam. The Burberry also comes without Dermatex fabric which offers a superior latex air and 3D mesh. And worst of all, you cannot use the Burberry on the adjustable Sealy power mattress bases like the "Odessa" because the springs in the Burberry are not of a good enough quality to sustain flexing of the mattress. And when this inferior Burberry mattress sags after only 3 months of normal use, both the Bed Centre and Sealy refuse to replace it, based on a phoney measurement exercise. 40.000 Rand wasted on a mattress that after 3 months feels like a 10 year old lumpy piece of *******. The material has moved to the middle where it has formed an elevated ridge and no rotating of it can change that. Because the middle ridge is as high as the mattress edges are, a measurement with a string across the full width doesn't pick up the sag in each half. So Sealy can laugh at the customer and trust that nobody will go to the High Court and sue for an amout of 40k. May the market please punish them!

ANNOYED

I purchased a Sealy Queen Plush mattress in Jul 2025 for my 81 year old Mother who weighs 40kg. Potholes were appearing so we rotated the mattress, but then it happened on the other side as well. My Mom could not sleep and battled getting out of the potholes in the morning. We communicated with the store and Sealy, and they exchanged it in June 2026 for a brand new mattress. 2 days into the new mattress - the same thing happens. We have reported it to the store and Sealy and have been denied a refund as we need to rotate it once a week for 3 months so that the foam can set. What a load of *******! So for the next 3 months, my 81 year old Mother, WHO WEIGHS ONLY 40KG must sleep on a mattress with potholes! NICE ONE SEALY!!! I understand that it is a plush mattress, but seriously, you are expecting your customers to sleep on a mattress that is so uncomfortable? Please credit us the amount paid so that we can purchase a better mattress from a different brand.

Poor support

My 3rd sealy mattress and they all sink like crazy in the hip area causing everything but posture support! Alon plush, crown Jewel extra firm and Cassy medium. I will unfortunately not support (pun intended) Sealy again

My sealy mattress is sagging

I am extremely disappointed with the after-sales service. My Sealy mattress developed severe sagging on both sides and now feels like there are sinkholes where we sleep. It has become very uncomfortable, and my back pain has worsened significantly because of it. I contacted Dial-a-Bed William Moffett, who advised that Skyline would contact me regarding the issue. I then received an SMS stating that someone would call me within 14 business days. That call never came. Months have now passed, and despite following the correct process and waiting patiently, I have received no follow-up, no inspection, and no resolution. A mattress of this quality should not sag so badly, and customers should not have to chase for months to get assistance. I would appreciate urgent attention to this matter and a proper response regarding my warranty claim.
