Forensic Investigation by SASSA

I refer to the article by by Wendy Dondolo from *** which read : Minister Dina Pula orders probe into funding and care crisis at Sarepta Old Age Home and which was exposed by Mrs Derelen James of the ActionSA political party. One must wonder with all the negative responses if this "forensic investigation" is still ongoing and what steps will be taken to stop what is happening daily in the home about residents assaulting residents and residents being allowed to buy, store in their rooms and smoking daily **** and all of this is brought to the attention of the "facility manager" but no changes yet in fact she seems to be on the assaulters side. What happened to the very large donation made by a bank to repair the homes leaking roofs and residents must cover their beds with plastic bags to prevent their beds becoming sopping wet . Why is our full SASSA old age grant taken every month but according to SASSA we are allowed 10% to 25% is this because of an ******* clause in an ******* "contract?" Medication for residents seems to also be a big problem when they tell family about the lack of medicine they must get but there is none. Hopefully this "forensic investigation" will bring the necessary changes and soon because there is a massive problem if 40% to 60% of residents should not be here because of the untrained staff who cannot provide the necessary care. Please Mrs Minister Pula and Mrs James when next ,if you do,pay the home a visit talk to some of the residents and not only to management then you will also get some truth coming out.

SASSA's shocking service!

The only reason I give SASSA a 1-star review is because I can't give them a minus 7! What an absolute joke! SASSA is undoubtedly the most useless, pathetic government entity in South Africa! Yesterday I went to SASSA Camperdown for my 5th visit to SASSA offices. I have been to Durban only to find NO toilet facilities suitable for human use! I went to Pinetown twice waiting for up to 7 hours and getting no help. They don't even have a number system so there is complete chaos with hundreds of people milling around, while young mothers breast feed their children on the hard benches outside. After then going to SASSA Camperdown twice in the past two days and having to leave twice to get my brand new Smart card *** verified manually and a police affidavit to prove I am not working (at the age of 69), I have to return again next week for the 6th visit to SASSA. I must say that at least Camperdown has a number system and the staff are very helpful and friendly. To be honest, the staff are great for the most part, it is not their fault nothing works. It is the failed systems, going down constantly, the website that does NOT work at all, and the fact that SASSA tries everything they can to block your payments. Excuse after excuse after excuse, despite the fact that we are for the most part honest, hard working South Africans who pay our taxes year after year. Come on SASSA, you have got to do better!

UNAUTHORISED R230 DEDUCTION FROM MY GRANT

I am extremely angry, frustrated and disappointed with the way SASSA has handled my complaint regarding an unauthorised deduction from my grant. Since June 2026, my grant payment has been reduced by R230 every month. This money is being paid to Emerald Life, despite the fact that I never authorised or consented to this deduction. I went to the SASSA offices in Atteridgeville/Saulsville seeking assistance. I was assisted by an employee named Lesedi. Unfortunately, I did not feel that she genuinely wanted to assist me. When I wanted to lodge a complaint and asked for her name, she was hesitant to provide it. I returned to the SASSA offices again in July 2026 and was once again assisted by Lesedi. I was told that I needed to obtain an affidavit. I followed the instruction, obtained the affidavit and returned it, and I was told that it had been submitted. Despite doing everything I was instructed to do, my grant is still being deducted by R230. This is unacceptable. I am a grant recipient, and this money is meant to assist me with my basic needs. R230 may seem small to some people, but to someone dependent on a social grant, every rand matters. Having money deducted without my consent places me in an extremely difficult position. I contacted Emerald Life on 15 June 2026 and spoke to Keitumetse. I was informed that an account had apparently been opened using my details. More concerningly, Keitumetse acknowledged that the personal information on their profile does not match my details. This raises extremely serious questions about how this policy/account was opened and how the deduction was authorised. I have been trying to get this unauthorised deduction cancelled, but I am being sent from one organisation to another while the deductions continue. Where is the protection for vulnerable grant recipients? Why is SASSA allowing money to be deducted from my grant for a service I never requested or authorised? Why has my affidavit not resulted in the deduction being stopped? Why am I, the victim of this alleged unauthorised transaction, being forced to fight for my own money? I am demanding immediate intervention and a proper investigation into: * Who authorised the R230 deduction from my grant? * How was an Emerald Life account opened in my name? * Why do the details on the Emerald Life profile not match my details? * What authorisation or documentation was used to initiate the deduction? * Why has SASSA failed to stop the deduction after I reported it? * How many deductions have been processed since June 2026? * When will every unauthorised deduction be refunded to me? I am deeply disappointed by the apparent lack of urgency shown by SASSA. I should not have to repeatedly visit SASSA offices, obtain affidavits and beg for assistance to stop money from being taken from my grant without my consent. I am requesting immediate escalation to SASSA Head Office and the relevant *****/investigations department. I want all money ********ly or unauthorisedly deducted from my grant since June 2026 to be recovered and returned to me. This matter must not be ignored. I strongly suspect that there may be a wider scheme targeting vulnerable grant recipients, and I am demanding that SASSA investigate how this happened and whether other beneficiaries are affected. I need my money. I need this deduction stopped immediately. I need someone in authority to take responsibility and resolve this matter. I am extremely angry and frustrated, and I will continue escalating this matter to the relevant regulatory and oversight authorities until I receive a proper resolution. SASSA must protect beneficiaries. In this instance, I feel completely unprotected.

Useless

This government entity is by far the most useless, ***********,stupid of all government entities. All of them working for SASSA is stupid and have a 30% pass rate. They don't even know how their own online system works, pathetic. Toddlers have more brains than them all. This ANC government is gonna fall very soon. My dog is by far more cleverer than them. Useless, empty brain cells.
