Unreliable fibre go-live dates

I have moved from an area with fibre to Kenmare, Krugersdorp where fibre is being installed by SADV. After conducting some research I have found that the area was originally supposed to go live around October/November 2018. The date keeps being pushed back and back and is now standing at 30 June 2019. I agreed moving to the area because it was supposed to be live by now, and I cannot make a living without internet. I know I can go for ADSL but Telkom is just as useless. And 3G/4G is just not an option these days as it is way too expensive..

Why SADV, can you not just stick to a date and finish an area on the date planned? I can understand if you run a month late, maybe two, but 8 months?? Really? And at this rate it will keep on being pushed back until 2030...

You need to get a Manager on site in the area and get the contractors/workers to do their job. I hardly see anyone in the area. Now and then there are a few guys planting some grass. Nothing more..

Hi Ruan, we cannot apologize enough for the delay in Kenmare. Our team is working on getting the site live as soon as possible. There was a wayleave delay in phase 1, this is why it will go live after phase 2. However, phase 2 is due to go live within the next several days. Phase 2, is currently estimated at 30 June, however, this is just because we weren't aware of how much maintenance and rebuild would need to take place until we re-trenched the area (once wayleaves were approved). Therefore, we are anticipating to go live before then, hopefully no later than May. We really cannot apologize enough for this delay.
