SA Digital Villages - POOR
Fully agree with the numerous other complaints of POOR SERVICE: SADV started fibre infrastructure installation in our area in 2019 (installation up to individual houses completed), we were told it will go live JANUARY 2020, it is now July, and nothing happened, no progress, and NO feedback on status quo from them.
During Feb, March, May, June, July: Numerous phone calls and emails to the SADV contact centre and every time get told "we need to get an update from our project manager and get back to you", which they NEVER do! It is CLEARLY just a generic response to get rid of you and then bank on the fact that you will get tired (and bankrupted!) from phoning in. Requests to get senior management to contact me are also just being ignored. Seems they just abandoned the project as it should not take weeks / months to get an update from a project manager!? Now we are left in limbo, desperately need fiber to work from home and no clarity on when we will get it OR how to move past SADV to get it!?!
*to add insult to injury, their poorly designed automated email system sends me numerous emails a day to say "we have not heard from you since the last update on your request" !? but they have not answered or dealt with my query from THEIR side - I'm the one waiting !?!
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. On 1 April 2020, we transferred our fibre infrastructure over to Vuma and their teams are completing the build in your area.
I have requested an update for you and will advise as soon as I've received feedback. Alternatively, you can contact their teams to get an update.

I chatted with the Vuma project manager that is overseeing the fibre build in your area. He has confirmed that they're waiting for wayleaves to complete the fibre build, hence the delay in your area going live. Unfortunately, they don't have an ETA at this stage but the teams are following up every day to try to get this resolved. My sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused.
