Free SADV line upgrades hosted by Axxess
I am sure that most Port Elizabeth clients have received a mail from your ISP (Mine is Axxes) hosting lines with SADV with regards to the free line upgrades. Well after a lot of struggle and communication ups and downs, it turns out that they have sent out that mail prior in doing proper research that it is even feasible for all their clients. But yes all Port Elizabeth clients with their lines hosted by SADV will soon or probably already have been notified that we wont benefit from this free line upgrade as promised in their email. Both my wife and I are working from home during this time and this false promise would really have saved a lot of frustration. As a small business owner myself, if I make false promises like that I will most definitely feel it, either financially or in reputation. I feel that it is unacceptable to make empty promises like this.
We would just like to mention that PE is part of our upgrade process - the only speeds that do not qualify are the One Hundred Mbps customers.
Unfortunately, we are using a third-party provider’s network for our backhaul in Port Elizabeth and we noticed towards the end of last year that there were speed and packet loss issues being experienced by customers in the area. This is due to a capacity constraint on their link, which after investigation, we escalated to their team. In March of this year, we made arrangements with our backhaul provider to make use of an additional link to help alleviate some of the issues. A further additional link with increased capacity is currently being built. Once completed, we expect all capacity issues in the area will be resolved. However, due to the current lockdown in the country, all network builds have been placed on hold and therefore, our anticipated date for completion has been shifted. As soon as we have a new confirmed date, communication will be sent out.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your understanding during this time.
