The service here is terrible! I’ve never dealt with such an *********** dealership it’s frustrating. I don’t know whether the staff literally go to work to “chill and not work”. I’m so disappointed!!

I am disappointed by the way my warranty query has been handled by Renault. My vehicle developed a fault, and I requested that it be repaired under the manufacturer’s warranty. Instead of providing a clear assessment, I was informed that the repair would not be covered and that I would first have to pay for a diagnostic test. What concerns me most is that Renault has refused to provide this warranty decision in writing. As a customer, I believe I am entitled to receive a written explanation setting out why my warranty claim has been declined and the basis for that decision. In addition, I requested written confirmation of the vehicle’s warranty registration and commencement date to establish whether the vehicle is still covered. We contacted Renault Customer Care, and a reference number was issued. Despite this, no one has responded or provided the requested information to date. It is unfair to expect a customer to pay diagnostic costs while refusing to: * Provide the warranty registration date. * Confirm the warranty status in writing. * Give a written explanation for declining the warranty claim. * Respond to an existing customer care enquiry. I am simply asking for transparency and fair treatment. If Renault believes the repair is not covered by the warranty, they should have no difficulty providing the reasons in writing together with confirmation of the warranty commencement date. I hope Renault will resolve this matter promptly by providing the requested documentation and a proper written response.

We purchased a vehicle from Renault Tokai on 02 April 2026. This purchase was made with great excitement, as it coincided with the long weekend and celebrations for our son’s birthday. At the time of delivery, the vehicle appeared acceptable. We were informed upfront that: The oxygen sensor still needed to be replaced The remote batteries needed replacement The boot cover was missing- this will also be added A full valet had not yet been done, and we could return the vehicle for this We were also informed that the vehicle had to be fetched from the Paarden Eiland branch, and everything happened under time pressure because we wished to take delivery on the same day. Issues Discovered Shortly After Delivery As the long weekend approached, we inspected the car in our own personal time and discovered multiple problems that were not disclosed at point of sale: The dashcam was not working at all and contained a broken memory card The window washer pipes were broken The vehicle was clearly not in the condition expected of a dealer-sold car We alerted Motus / Renault Tokai on 12–13 April and brought the vehicle in. We explicitly stated that we were not happy with the condition of the vehicle and asked about a replacement. This was not even considered from the dealerships point of view. Incorrect and Unfounded Allegations At this point, the manager began alleging that: Rodents chewed through the vehicle wiring while the car was in our possession We may have gone away for the long weekend and rodents caused damage at our destination Both statements are factually incorrect: Our previous trade‑in vehicle was parked in the same location and never had rodent issues We did not go away that long weekend These claims are based on assumption, not evidence The implication that we are responsible for rodent damage is unreasonable and unfair, especially considering: The oxygen sensor was already faulty at delivery The damaged wiring directly explains the oxygen sensor failure The vehicle arrived from Paarden Eiland without a proper inspection It is therefore our firm belief that the rodent damage existed prior to delivery, and that a thorough inspection was not conducted before the vehicle was handed over to us. Contradictions Regarding the Valet The manager further claimed a full valet had been done, which is incorrect. We were initially informed that: The valet was still outstanding We could return the vehicle for the oxygen sensor, valet, remote batteries, and boot cover Each time concerns were raised, responsibility was deflected back onto us, with the repeated statement that “we were happy when we received the car.” Naturally we were — defects beneath the surface only became apparent once proper checks were done after delivery. Current Situation – Lack of Coordination and Human Consideration On the agreed date, we delivered the car back to the dealership for repairs. Upon arrival, my husband was informed that: The vehicle was not even booked in They would “ squeeze it in” No timeframe could be provided for repairs This is despite the fact that we clearly communicated from the outset that we cannot be without a vehicle, as my husband relies on it to get to and from work. While transport home was arranged for my husband, no courtesy vehicle was offered for the repair period, leaving us without any means of transport. Emotional and Practical Impact The overall experience has been: Dismissive Inhumane Deeply inconsiderate It is distressing to feel that once the sale was completed, any issues became our problem alone, regardless of their origin. I feel belittled, unheard, and unfairly blamed for problems that were clearly present before delivery. What We Expect Going Forward (Consumer Protection Act Compliance) In terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, particularly Sections 55 and 56, we are entitled to receive goods that are of good quality, in working order, free of defects, and reasonably suitable for the purpose for which they are intended. This standard was clearly not met. Given the issues identified shortly after delivery and reported within a reasonable timeframe, we formally request the following: A fair and objective reassessment of responsibility based on factual findings, not assumptions, in line with the CPA A clear and realistic written timeframe for the completion of all repairs Immediate assistance with mobility, as we cannot reasonably be left without transportation due to defects that were present at or before delivery A courtesy vehicle, which would be the ideal and appropriate remedy, while our vehicle remains out of service Or offering us a car replacement with the same price but in an immaculate condition with no faults or defects. Accountability for the vehicle having been delivered without a proper inspection, resulting in defects only becoming apparent after handover In accordance with Section 56 of the CPA, when goods fail to meet the requirements of Section 55, consumers are entitled to appropriate relief. Leaving us without transport, while responsibility is disputed and repairs remain open‑ended, does not constitute fair or reasonable resolution. We have acted in good faith throughout and raised our concerns promptly. We now expect this matter to be resolved lawfully, fairly, and with due regard for the severe inconvenience caused.

21 Jan 2026 my Renault Clio had engine failure and overheating on my way to work. I had it towed to the dealership for them to check what is wrong and how to go about fixing the issue. I was told at the desk they have a 72 hour turn over time before I would get any sort of update on my car. Only documents they took was a form I had filled in with my name & surname, phone number and address. 6 days have passed since dropping my car off without any update from them. I tried calling them 4 days after dropping it off to which I couldn’t get a hold of anyone with the phone just ringing. This morning (26 Jan 2026) I phoned 4 times and finally got someone on the line who I asked for an update. I was asked to confirm my number which they had a completely different number on file (why did I fill my number on a form when dropping the car off for them not to use it) and was asked if my car is still at the dealership. She then told me she would find out for me what’s happening with my car and would update me. It’s been nearly 5 hours without any response or update from them. I tried calling 4 times now again with the same issue of the phone just ringing with no answer or update on my car which they have had for 6 days now.

Below it the email that i sent to Renault Tokai - Motus They responded to 2 of the many concerns that I have. I am writing to formally raise my concern regarding the ongoing delay and lack of communication with respect to my vehicle, a Renault Sandero (2014 model), currently at Renault Tokai Motus since 15 August 2025. Today is 04 September 2025, and I am still without clear feedback or resolution. The service consultant I dealt with, Muneeb, assured me that he would contact me on Monday, 01 September before 17:00 to provide information regarding the engineer's report. This did not happen. Instead, he called me the following morning to request my email address, promising to copy me in the correspondence with M-Sure Insurance regarding the extended warranty on my engine. To date, I have not received this email. I followed up again on Wednesday, 03 September, and was told the email would be sent that morning. However, I am still waiting. This lack of follow-through and communication has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. By way of background: I purchased my vehicle from Renault Tokai in 2021 and have had it serviced exclusively at your branch. Following last year's service, the boot could no longer be opened with the key, and I have had to use the lever inside the car. While inconvenient, I accepted this as long as my car remained driveable. On 28 May 2025, I brought my vehicle in for a minor service. No dashboard warning lights indicated any issues at that time. On 14 August 2025, while driving home, the temperature warning light began beeping. I immediately pulled over and arranged a temporary fix to get home. I phoned Renault Tokai from the roadside and was advised by a female consultant to bring the car in the next morning (15 August) for the water bottle to be replaced. Since then, my vehicle has remained at the dealership for 21 days, and I still do not have a clear resolution. I rely heavily on my vehicle to commute long distances to work and conduct site visits. In the absence of my car, I was forced to hire a vehicle for 17 days at significant personal expense. I have since had to return the rental, as the cost was unsustainable. Despite repeated requests, I have been advised by Muneeb that no courtesy vehicles are available as they are all in for repair. However, when I purchased my car from Renault Tokai, I was assured that clients would not be left stranded, and that a courtesy vehicle would be made available if a customer's car was in for more than seven days. Unfortunately, that commitment has not been honoured. Given these circumstances, I respectfully request: Immediate written feedback on the engineer's report and the current status of my vehicle. Clarity on whether Renault will honour its promise to provide a courtesy vehicle under these conditions. A formal explanation for the delay in communication and failure to meet commitments made by your service consultant. I trust you will treat this matter with urgency, as the ongoing situation has placed considerable strain on my ability to work and manage my responsibilities.
