You are genuinely being misled when signing up for WiFi with RAIN. The service works acceptably for the first month.

I am approximately 80 meters from the tower, yet the connection is completely unusable. This is unacceptable by any reasonable standard.

I strongly advise that you think twice before choosing RAIN — or better yet, do not consider them at all. You will receive a more reliable connection by purchasing mobile data and using your phone as a hotspot. In my experience, it delivers better performance and is likely more cost-effective as well.
