unfair fees

I had a rain month to month package for R250, at some point I couldnt afford to pay it but rain services still continued. initially they had to stop the service the month I didn't pay but they didn't and it kept on working for a couple of months. rain has handed me to their attorneys which I find very unfair because your package was a month to month package I am now being told I have to pay R850 because it continued to work for a few more months, however this is not my problem on my end this was not a contract. please kindly sort this thing out I can honestly pay for the first month it worked when it wasn't supposed to but I am not paying for the other months. you were supposed to stop the service the first month in which I didn't pay for the package.
