Unauthorizide debit order after a phone call advising not to take out any monies!
I took out a sim card with rain a while back, during that time I was still residing in the CBD.
The main reason why I went for rain it's because I was told it's a month to month agrrement.
Meaning I'm not tied to any contracts for any missed pyments as I pay as I use my service.
To my suprise I reveived some sms a while nack, say about a month and weeks ago.
Letting me know about my missed payment, didn't pay much attention to that because I thought they were trying to retain me as their customer.
Following that, I received a phone call about 3 weeks back from a gentle man. I can't recall his name.
But he said he was from the collection team and told me I had a debt of about R500.
When I asked them how come, because I don't have a contract with Rain as it's month to month.
He gave some explenation that did not make much of sense, and I told them I stopped using Rain because after looting I had to relocate to Waterloo and there's no signal there.
So there wasn't a need for me to pay for something I didn't use anymore, so I just stopped paying.
From my understanding I didn't have to phone them to cancel anything because there wasn't anything to cancel.
Nobody told me upon signing up that I'd have to call in and cancel incase I wante to stop using the service.
I then made it clear to hime that, I wasn't willing pay for something I wasn't made aware of upon signing up.
If this is their way of getting their business running with all that's going on around the country.
It's really not ethical, we're all suffering and living from hand to mount the last thing I'd want is to have a debt that I'm not aware of.
Today they debited an amount of R250 after making them aware I'm not using their services anymore because of my current location. It's useless where I am.
I want the money they took from my card today and for the so called debt that they claim I have to be relooked at because as I say and I'll stand by this.
Nobody told me to call in and cancel incase I stop using their services or there'll be any charges if I don't.
I had no issues with Rain and was planning to continue with their service after my situation changes seeing I've reffered many of my friends because I had no issues, but not after this.
Please help with this.

Now I ask for the recording for my sale and for this call quoted above.
Yes, I did receive this and I found it so odd; because I had already spoken with that guy and made it clear what was my understanding.
Does this mean you're forcing me to pay for te services I don't use, for instance you took out R250 yesterday and that sim card is kepst somewhere in my house because I don't use it. It's useless to me.
So, I'm assuming you're going to take out the money again next month and so forth for something I don't use at all?
I need a call recording for the collections guy that phoned me, clearly what we disscussed wasn't recorded because after our call they sent confirmation of something I was disputing as if I greed to it!
Get that call and tge sale call, because I want to know where it says I'm tied to this and I need to notify them if I discontinue using their services!
