Unauthorized Amounts Debited By Rain

I am experiencing a problem with Rain. My account was in errors I got a call in November 2023 to make an arrangement to pay the account which I agreed to. However in January money was deducted out of my account that I did not agree to, the same thing happened in February R1500 was debited out of my account. When I called to query this amount the consultant that I spoke to on the 25/02/2024 was extremely rude when I told her that the amount that was debited from my account was not the amount I agreed to. She then told me it is what it is my account was not supposed to be in errors in the first place and hung up on me. I decided to let it go. Today the 25/03/2023 I see rain tried to debit my account yet again the amount of R535 I do not understand why because the account is settled and I am no longer using that sim card. When I checked the app rain debited me R499 on the 25/01/2024 and R499 on the 25/02/2024 hence the R1500 on the 25/02/2024. When I called today i spoke to 4 different consultants who all hung up on me without resolving my billing issue. I want my subscription cancelled and i want my R1000 transferred back into my account because I will not be charged for a service that I am not using. Please sort this out and stop deducting money from my account. My phone number *** Regards Miss Khoza

Hi cancellation reference? Or proof of payment agreement? How am I supposed to provide you with those things because I received a call to make an arrangement. Why am I being asked for different things. The consultant that called me asked me to send my 3 months bank statement so you can see that you have over charged me. Why do you keep debiting my account everyday I have asked that you stop debiting my account and yet again today you are still trying to take money from my account. The consultant I spoke to said that he was going to cancel the amount that shows on the app and cancel my subscription but yet am still in this predicament. If you continue you debiting my account and this matter is not resolved today I am taking you to the Ombudsman cause am tired of this.

Dear Rain

This correspondence serves as a formal complaint regarding overcharges on and the failure to properly terminate a service contract.

I entered into a contract for your services. Unfortunately, the contract fell into arrears, and I understand termination occurred. Following the termination, an arrangement was established to resolve the outstanding balance. For verification, I kindly request you reference all call recordings and notes associated with my account to confirm this agreement.

Regrettably, this agreement was not honored. My account was debited for inconsistent amounts, resulting in overcharges. Despite contacting your customer service department on several occasions, I was unable to obtain a resolution. The consultants I spoke with did not advise me of any outstanding cancellation requests, which led to further complications.

Furthermore, the complaints officer requested my bank statements but neglected to provide an email address for submission.

I am requesting a full refund for the overcharged amount and immediate cancellation of the aforementioned contract.

In the absence of a satisfactory resolution within the next two business days, I will be forced to escalate this matter to the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) to address these apparent breaches of ethical business practices.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Regards
Miss Khoza
