Stay away from Rain

Rain is the worst internet service provider in South Africa.

I have been with Rain for a couple of years. It all started well and the service I was receiving was top notch. As time went on, things started to move from bad to worse. I pay for 60mbps but every evening, for years now, from around 17:00 to 22:00, my internet connection and speed are as low as 2mbps.

I'm studying and have to attend classes daily at 19:00, which I can't do because of the bad internet connection by Rain.

I can't even remember how many times I logged calls with them. They take you through the same useless steps of restarting the router and moving it around in the house but that never works.

They promise to call back but never do.

They then send a technician who comes to "do tests" and tells you that the tower you're connected to is congested and there's nothing that can be done. They eventually gave me a huge router that I think is for outdoors but it still doesn't help.

I am so hopeless at this time. The trauma that this has caused me has even made me not to trust any other service provider. It feels like I am stuck in an abusive relationship where the other party is happy to take my hard earned money while they do not keep their end of the agreement.

My advise to anyone looking to sign up with Rain, you will regret it sooner or later. Stay away!!!
