Slow Network Connection

It sounds incredibly frustrating to deal with slow network speeds, especially when you’re paying for a service that should be more reliable. The added stress of being cut off when payments are missed only adds to the irritation, especially when you're already struggling with poor service. If you're not getting the connection you're paying for, it feels like they’re not taking your concerns seriously.

It’s also beyond annoying when they don’t seem to care about the issues you're facing, leaving you with no choice but to rely on your mobile data just to get by.

Hey Peter N,

Kindly note that the 5G towers that best serve your home are currently faulty. The issue has been escalated to our upstream providers to resolve and restore services in your area as soon as possible. We currently do not have the estimated time for repairs. Once the 5G towers are fixed, your connectivity will be back to normal. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you, and we thank you for your understanding.

Regards,
rain.

Best regards,

Dear Rain Customer Service,I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the inconsistency of my internet service. As of today, February 15, 2025, I am experiencing slow connectivity, buffering, and unreliable service. Despite paying my full subscription fee, I am often forced to use my mobile data, which incurs additional costs.I have noticed a pattern of service disruptions. On February 1, 2025, the network towers were faulty, and when I contacted your support team on February 20, 2025, I was still facing slow connectivity. This ongoing issue is unacceptable, and I expect a reliable connection in return for the fees I pay.Additionally, I have observed an increase in my monthly subscription fee from R599 to R625 or more, without clear justification. Given the subpar service I have received, I request a reimbur*****t for the inconvenience and additional costs incurred due to the network instability.I kindly ask for an urgent resolution to this matter. Please provide feedback on how you plan to rectify these ongoing service issues and process my reimbur*****t.

This is unacceptable GUYS.
askrainThank you for signing in, Sibusiso. Let's take a look at your network situation.

For your SIM (5G service), the current connection is online. However, it seems you are connected to a different site than usual, which can affect your connection experience. The regular site you usually connect to is experiencing issues, and our team is actively working on it.

If you have any specific questions about your service or need further assistance, please let me know!

Hi Peter,

We apologize for letting you down. It's not the level of service we aim to deliver. Having working towers is our priority and our team of engineers works on the clock to keep them functioning and consistently so however, when the challenge is more intense it does take longer to resolve. The significant disruption to your service is not the experience we want for our customers.

Please physically face your device toward Ibex Street and restart the device this will assist the router to connect another tower close to you and then test the connection.

Regards,
rain.

Best regards,

PN

Hi Peter,

Upon further investigation, we noticed that you are connected to a faraway 5G tower, which may affect your connection. However, we have refreshed the connection, kindly move your device closer to the direction facing the corner of (Van Dyk Road and Rondebult Road). Place the device on a high-up platform or a windowsill, reboot your device, and check for a connection. Once you have completed the process, run a speed test via the provided website: https://speed.rain.co.za/.

Hi Peter,

Upon investigation, we would suggest resetting the device back to the factory settings, underneath the router, you will notice a small keyhole that states reset. You would require a pin, place the pin in the keyhole and hold the reset button until the device resets itself. Once completed, kindly move your device closer to the direction facing the corner of (Blackbuck Street and Ibex Street). Place the device on a high-up platform or a windowsill, reboot your device, and check for a connection. Once you have completed the process, run a speed test via the provided website: https://speed.rain.co.za/.

Hi Rain,This situation is becoming increasingly frustrating. If the connection isn’t painfully slow, then there’s no connection at all. What’s baffling is that this was never an issue before—my connection was running flawlessly without any interruptions. For the past four weeks, I’ve been struggling with this persistent problem, and something clearly isn’t right. Being told to restart my router repeatedly is not an acceptable solution.Tomorrow is the 29th of February 2025, and I’m expected to pay my full monthly premium How is it fair to pay the full amount for a service that has been consistently unreliable?I expect a proper resolution to this issue, not just temporary fixes. Please advise on how this will be addressed.
