Save yourself the headache and stay away from Rain Network.
I am writing to raise concerns about being charged the full amount of R595 for my Rain Network WiFi service in September, despite experiencing significant connection issues throughout the month. As far as I’m concerned, R595 is for the WHOLE month, not a few days of it.
The longest period of no connection was from the 17th to the 25th of September, and when it briefly worked on the 25th, it was only for a few hours. I decided to cancel the service entirely due to continued lack of connection and frustration. On the 25th, I turned off the router after cancelling and it has been packed away since then. Prior to this, I had already spoken to Rain on the 5th of September via phone. After trying unsuccessfully to resolve the issue, I was informed that a technician would call me back, but I never received a follow-up.
I have been informed that I am liable for the full payment because of "everyday usage," but this claim is inaccurate. I have evidence that contradicts this, and the invoices available on the site lack sufficient detail to show when the router was used. I have been told the matter is escalated, but I still have not received the requested usage breakdown.
Please assist with the following:
How was it determined that there was "everyday usage" in September, and what data supports this? Why am I liable for the full month's payment given the multiple connection issues. When can I expect to receive a detailed usage report that shows actual router activity?
This is for The101 Router.
