Rain - Unreliable Connection

Have had Rain for 3 weeks and am migrating to Afrihost now. While I was impressed with the quick turnaround time in getting connected, having done it all on a Sunday... Sim delivery, RICA, connection, alles... I quickly realised that this would be the only area of rapid anything.

I work from home on my 4G LTE router and had comfortably done so through Lockdown with Axxess. I switched as I was curious as to what Rain was about and looked forward to the uncapped offering.

WORST CHOICE EVER... As has been pointed out over and over, and they were taken to the Advertising Bureau over it... Being uncapped is irrelevant if you are unable to get connected in the first instance or rather that your internet is continuously cutting out or so slow that it might as well not be on at all. This has translated into me not being able to reliably use my VOIP phone for client calls, and has created endless frustration. An unreliable connection in the current context is as bad as none at all.

No response to my request for support (now 24 hrs later), but a virtually immediate one when indicating I would be cancelling my account. Cash is clearly what its about.

I am sure that eventually the greed in attracting countless new customers far beyond their ability to actually service them with what is promised will eventually be met with either a raise in capacity or a loss of customers, but I'm not sticking around for that.

With ISPs its pretty straight forward... Make sure that the customers you do have are happy, and that your product offering is an honest one. Not the case with Rain currently... Check out the top listed ISPs for your current quarter on myBroadband for a good list of alternatives.
