RAIN, the provider with no service and poor connectivity...

Still the most disappointing internet service provider in my area. Very unstable connectivity, very poor speeds and the kind of service and feedback you could expect from a rock. This forces complaints like the below on their site for which I will most probably not even get a constructive reply.... I am so frustrated.....

"Rain is off.... AGAIN!! I am connected, but no internet. I have been patient until now as I wanted it to work in my area and I wanted to assist Rain to sort connectivity out in my area, but clearly this is a one way street as Rain does not share the same passion. But it is getting too much now. All I need is a stable connection with acceptable speed. All I am getting is the most unstable connection I have ever had with speeds that would even disappoint a turtle........"

Good day

Who can assist me with my query and who can I contact? I have been struggling with connectivity from day one. Started off with the 19/7 service and a Vodafone 4G router. Through endless struggle for support from Rain, I, out of my own effort as a next step to eliminate my home setup/environment as a possible cause, upgraded my router with a brand new TP-Link Archer MR200. It made no difference. I moved around the router in my home and left it in the best spot.... no difference.

I then, seeing that the 19/7 service is a best effort service, upgraded my package to the 24/7 package with the hope to get better and quicker service from Rain. This did not change anything as I am still stuck with poor connectivity and even worse speeds and the service from Rain is still non-existent mostly.

An engineer by the name of Sheldon was kind enough to try and assist with troubleshooting and it was noticed that the issue was not on my side but with the tower/site I am connected to. The engineer escalated the matter to the technical team to investigate, but am not getting anything back from them. Sheldon called me again this morning stating that there is nothing else he can do and that he has not yet received any feedback from the technical department.

It is evident from the long email I am sending now, the amount of tickets I logged on your site, the email replies to your support calls as well as my reviews on Hellopeter that I am by now VERY frustrated as I was really being patient in hope that the issue can be resolved.

It is becoming more and more evident that I was in error when thinking that I am a valued customer and Rain cares about me, because if this was the case I would have received better support and feedback as well as a fix to my issue with the connectivity.

This is my final call out in desperation for a resolution to this ongoing losing battle for a stable environment and support from Rain as a service provider.

Looking forward to your assistance and support on this matter.

So after months of struggling and complaining about poor speeds and stability, I get the below reply saying they cannot help me, 4G/5G/LTE is best effort and that I should look for another service provider if I am still experiencing issues...

"Hi Flip

My apologies for the delayed response.

Please note that the site you are connecting to is the closest tower to your location which is the better serving site to your location.

The only problem is there's high utilization on the actual site which leads to your slow speeds experience.

The business is looking into the matter, hoping the capacity on the actual towers will be increased soonest to accommodate the current high utilization ..

If you have tried all the troubleshooting steps as previously advised as well as optimizing your signal by trying to find the best optimal spot for your device, there's nothing else we can do from the customer support end to improve your speed limits.

Remember the service we provide is wireless internet connection not Fiber To Your Home with stable internet speeds.

Rain’s 4G/LTE and 5G networks provide a best-effort service, and while Rain endeavors to provide the best experience possible, Rain provides no speed guarantee for either its 4G/LTE and 5G services.

At the moment you as the customer with the experience you have with our internet connection, you will let us no if the service is not completely working for you then we recommend you cancel the services as it's not fair for you to pay for what you not getting. "
