Rain *****ing from its clients

I have been a loyal customer since December 2018 and canceled my service last week. Upon cancellation I received an SMS stating that my service would end on the last day of July, which is correct. But it also specified that my last payment would go off on my designated payment date. Which is incorrect as I am a prepaid customer and have always been a prepaid customer. And as such there should not be any additional payments.

I immediately contacted their support team via the following email *** and received a response a moment later stating the following : Oops sorry, this email address is no longer active. I then proceeded to contact them via their listed contact number ***, and I explained the situation to the call centre agent. She explained that their operating policy is as follows, when you join your first payment is loaded as credit on your account and you are charged at the end of the month for your usage accordingly. At no point did I have a credit towards my account nor were there any additional spending from my side other than my monthly package fee. Their FAQ on how billing works is as follows:

Your card details are loaded and saved when you purchase your plan. At the end of every month, we will bill you for your subscriptions and data usage during that month. We’ll debit the billed amount from your card on your selected payment date. All plans require upfront payment when you choose them. We’ll hold on to your payment, and it’ll go towards your future bills.

I was led to believe when I signed up that Rain is a prepaid service which is why I was charged before using the service. I believe they have changed their policy and billing method since 2018 and are applying the new policy to me when they should not. And even so they stated the money is kept for future bills and then still charged me for a month when I cancelled it. I am also sure that there are many other clients out there who get treated like this and get their hard earned money ****** by Rain.

I would recommend if you are looking for an internet provider look else ware as they do not even deserve the one star I am giving them. You can clearly see by the amount of 1 star reviews your money would be better spent by setting it on fire.
