Rain Rip-off
The Rain Wi-Fi service providers are a bunch of rip-off artists.
We started dealing with them on June 21st, and it was all sweetness and light on the sales call, with promises being made that of course, were not fulfilled. When I cancelled the service at the end of July, a process that took 3 days because their cancellation button on their website does not work - we eventually requested a sales call in order to get them to contact us - they did not respond to emails and the auto answer service that they have on their call centre answers, but never arrives at a person - it just eventually rings off after about 15 minutes. Unluckily for whoever is calling and has to bear the brunt of the wasted airtime to try and reach them!
They overcharged us, as they are overcharging everyone in South Africa - they advertise their monthly service, as we all know at R595 per month, they omit the fact that they charge VAT on top of that - a practice which is against the law, which I pointed out to them, but which they do not seem to be concerned about. I cannot help but wonder if the VAT is paid to SARS?
They omit to tell you that there is a joining /setup fee, which again, attracts VAT.
I have been emailing them since the 31st of July every day, requesting someone to contact me regarding the overcharges. The system generates a ticket number, but no one gets in contact.
The apathy exhibited by them is ridiculous,

For July, R413 was deducted which is correct. BUT, if you have a calculator, you may be able to determine that R413 plus R1 is equal to R414 (sorry I KNOW this is very difficult), The Invoice however says R714. When I went to school, okay, it was a long time ago R714 was a whole R300 more then R414. This is basic arithmetic!
