RAIN - quick review and recommendation that might save you money and frustrations
Have been with them for just over a year(on the 5G Premium package), and can honestly say its been a roller-coaster ride. There is times when the speed is good, and other times that is just plain sucks as low as 0.2 Mbps - yes Mega bits per second.
The most shocking part is their support - it seems there is no way to contact them, emails goes ignored, no phone support. And if you do get in contact with someone - seems they have no clue about their own product or how to support it - so that just adds to the frustration.
I eventually got in contact with someone higher up in the food chain, and from time to time when things turn bad I get in contact with them(very grateful for that, and they the only reason I am still with RAIN) - and so far in most cases the problem has been resolved, but that should not be how this goes.
The only way to get support is to complain on open forums, here, MYBB etc, and that is an indication just how shocking their support is.
Also seems they over sell their own product and then you sit with congestion issues on certain towers, and that is very evident if you compare your early morning speed test, with one at 13:00, one at 17:00 and one at 20:00 - there is a steady decline - that is all congestion.
So from my personal experience, my recommendation is to rather look for a ISP that takes care of their customers, that can support them, and can deliver on their promises.
Is that a scheme to make people believe you reply ?
Well its way to late now in any case, as I moved to fiber after one of you technicians blamed my hardware for your mess up, and when I proved to him its not my hardware, he told me to move service provider.
Well I did, and its the best move I made.
Even with my "faulty" hardware, I get full speed morning, midday and night - what a pleasure.
If anybody is still wondering if RAIN is worth it - NO they NOT, better service and quality can be had for similar price.
