Rain: Pathetic support and false advertising

Since joining Rain I have never had the connection speeds promised and advertised. I pay the premium rate of R999 per month. This is for download speeds of up to 200mbps and uncapped. Signal speed was always maximum 40 mbps. During end April / beginning May lost signal totally. Support was not forthcoming. I kept on receiving mails telling me to do stupid things like check if router was plugged in, insert sim card or walk around the house to look for best signal. Eventually after complaining daily technicians were dispatched. They installed the router on my roof. Since then the signal indicator never indicated blue, meaning that I received 4G signal at best although paying for 5G. Signal was still at best 40 mbps and not the advertised 200 mbps. Since 13 July 2021 again have had no service. Despite daily complaints on their site and telephone calls no support has been forthcoming. I am losing income daily as due to Covid 19 all meetings are set up virtually. I have communicated this to them daily to no avail. They just don't seem to care. Do not consider these people if you plan to work virtually from home!!

Day 5 now no internet. Settings were app****, Made absolutely no difference. Indicator lights still flashing in router. No internet whatsoever. I have requested a phone call from support since day 1. I requested you to contact me via telephone yesterday which was ignored, Regarding your investigation if you read my complaints initially posted you would have noted that the 1st consultant already indicated towers experienced problems. According to a consultant I spoke to tower outage lasts a maximum of 48 hours. Its now 5 days!

2 Weeks now no connection still. Was informed maintenance was completed last week but no power to the tower now. Is ESKOM now involved and to blame? EFF next week maybe? This little exercise has cost me in excess of R3000.00 in having to arrange internet vacilites to attend virtual meetings. Please post your response publicly as to how I will be re-imbursed.

As per my previous review just to update fellow consumers. Here is what you will not be missing out on by not joining Rain internet provider at premium rate of R999 per month uncapped with speed up to 200 megabytes per second:

No internet connection since 13 July 2021. Half a month now.

I was advised last week that the maintenance on the tower apparently responsible for the lack of connection was completed. That was the good news!

The bad news is that their Engineers have failed to connect power to the tower since then to date.

Oh the joy;)
