Rain is restricting websites that I use? On what grounds?
Everything seemed okay until about a week ago, when our signal became terrible. Now there is a general improvement, but I've been told by one of their agents, that they have restricted some of the websites that I use. There are no grounds for this.
What the heck? These are not ******* websites. I use them for my work. Telkom mobile connects me to them fine. Just take a look at this "smart" lady's email after I called. She didn't even have the common courtesy to call me back as she said that she would.
Hi Clare,
Thank you for contacting rain.
As per our telephonic conversation, the website that you are accessing is restricted.
A vpn is a convienent way to unblock restricted websites
Please feel free to contact us for further assistance.
Cheers

There are several websites that are not loading, while the internet seems quite good for others.
I've contacted Rain several times over the last week, and I'm very unhappy with the service I've received in general.
I contacted them again after receiving this nonsense from this lady, to be told that the matter will be escalated. She was nice and all, sympathetic. But Rain, I don't have time to wait for this.
I'm on a month to month and thinking of taking my business elsewhere asap if this isn't resolved today.
We're really sorry your rain experience hasn't been as good as you expected.

I can however access the sites with my mobile when I am connected with Telkom mobile (on the same phone). I can not connect when I disable Windows firewall, but I can when I use a VPN. I do not want to hide my location with VPN. I want to access the sites that I did a week ago without issue.
Please pass this information onto someone in your technical department that might understand this situation. ASAP please.
It very much looks like Rain is restricting my access to certain websites without reasonable grounds. I hope that is not the case.

I must say, that a phone call from anyone at Rain would have been decent. I got the impression that nobody cares, and I had to chase after you for support.
Your call centre staff need to be better trained too.

FYI in case it's somehow related, on My Rain, on your website, it states in red under the map, "Device is currently offline". And I am unable to switch towers. When I told this to your support agent, she told me that it is not the case as there are devices connected.
You need to explain what is happening here, so that I and anyone else who reads this can understand. I need to make a decision on whether to keep your service or cancel it.
At this stage, I don't think even you know what is going on.
