Rain is more like a leaky faucet

As the cheapest mobile data provider, and one of the cheapest data providers in South Africa, it would come as no surprise that Rain would be a popular with South Africans. I guess many South Africans (like me) fell into the Rain trap with the promise of unlimited 4G data (up to 10Mbps) for only R 479 a month.

Sadly, IF the network is alive (and that is a very BIG if), it barely musters 2G speeds. Once the SpeedTest App manages to actually find the Rain network, speeds hover below 1Mbps. Under extremely rare circumstances does it reach speeds of 3Mbps, WAY below the promise of "up to" 10Mbps, or proper 4G speeds.

Then, to add insult to this injury, their Support Network is for all intents and purposes non-existent. The only punctual and efficient service of Rain is their debit order system. They NEVER fail to deduct their money from your account, even after MULTIPLE attempts to cancel the account.

I wish I could advertise this review to all South Africans to tell them avoid Rain, and rather waste their money somewhere else. It would be better to have 20GB + 20GB Telkom data with consistent speeds and fairly decent customer support.

If you love frustration, terribly slow browsing speeds and wasting money, go for Rain. They are experts at NOT giving value for money, yet demanding their money when the time is due.
