RAIN internet services not working as advertised.
About a week and a half ago, I bought and paid for RAIN's 5G uncapped internet. After waiting for more than 24 hours, I was still unable to connect to the internet using their router, so I logged a call with them. After much following up, eventually they informed me that there's a problem with the SIM card, which will necessitate a SIM-swop. Yes, apparently that means physically swopping a SIM card... Anyway, they informed me that the courier company would deliver the new SIM within the following week (which is this week). I've received a call from the courier company in question today informing me that they would need to collect the parcel (the entire parcel, SIM card, router, everything) and deliver a new one, which will only occur in the following week (i.e. next week).
To put this into perspective, according to RAIN's website, you'll be able to connect to the internet within 2 hours of being RICAd. By next week, I'd be in week 3 of not being able to use a product I bought and paid for.
I've since requested a full refund. Waiting to see how that goes.
- New router and sim delivered, and lo and behold, that didn't work either.
- Was promised a telephonic update by 15:00 yesterday, that also did not happen.
- Following up from my side yet again, the best I could get is that they would follow up with the networking department.
- Formally requested a refund now, which I'm sure will be delayed as well.
Final verdict: Avoid RAIN at all costs.

What blows my mind is that I'm currently sitting with two RAIN routers and two SIM cards (again, neither of which actually connected me to the internet), and your courier partner wanted to deliver ANOTHER router today after I've already cancelled and requested for a refund. To top it all off, according to your website, there is a payment due from me to RAIN on 1 July...?
Please just refund me and collect your goods. That's all I want.

The two routers and non-functioning SIM cards were collected yesterday, the refund is still to be seen. Will the refund appear before month-end, or even ever? Time will tell.

- My account on RAIN's website is still active
- According to their website, a fee of R302.90 has been debited from me today (although I do not see that transaction in my banking app)
- I've requested both a refund and a cancellation on 22 June, 2021
- No refund received as of 1 July 2021

No, the refund still hasn't been received nearly a month after I've requested it.
